Happy Halloween!!

Here is our halloween pics. Our kids had so much fun. Maddie loved dressing up like tinkerbell, and if you can't tell, Carson is Peter Pan, not robin hood. My mom helped me make his costume, I think he looks pretty cute.

Walking!!

Carson Has been picking up onwalking. It is so cute, he just looks to tiny to be walking. He only takes like 10 steps at a time, but soon he will be getting all over the place. He is just getting so big, it makes me sad that time flies so fast.

Cowboy Up!!

We had a murder mystery dinner with some of my friends from high school. It was lots of fun. Tony and I made some trips to savers and DI to find stuff for our costumes. We all had to be a character and had a dinner and solved the mystery.

Pics

I took these Pics for Father's Day, I decided to try my hand at editing. I tried lots of different things to the Pics to make them look professional. They really aren't anything super special, but the kids sure are adorable.

so big

Our Babes are just getting so big, I can hardly stand it. They are getting to the point where Carson isn't like a baby anymore, they play together so well . I am so sad that they are growing up so fast. I love them so much.

The kids helped us make cookies the other night. They were just eating the cookie dough the whole time. Looks like we won't be a very productive cookie maker family, (the dough may never get in the oven!!) Oh ya, we got the chocolate chips from Grandmas house and Maddie wanted to hold them. She fell asleep in the car and when we got home Tony moved her to her bed. She woke up screaming, "my chocolate chips!" We gave the bag to her and she fell right asleep.

Carson was playing outside the other day and it was so funny. He went straight for a puddle of mud. He was so dirty and eating leaves and playing with this ball. I just LOVE how much of a BOY he is.

Digi Scrap

This girl named Mandie in Boise was kind enough to teach me how to digi scrap. It is so fun! I haven't gotten very far, but now that we are back in the swing of things in Orem, I can get caught up on my scrapbooking ( crossing my fingers.) Anyway, I put a slide show of the little I have done but I am very excited about this new hobby. Thanks Mandie!!

Oops

Well, its been awhile, so I guess I am going to just throw some pics on here and try to stay more updated from now on.

Brightness of Hope

Today I read a talk by Elder Maxwell from 1994. My mom suggested it to my family. She gave us this 9 week spiritual plan that we are all doing as a family. It was kind of a deep talk for me. He used a lot of scripture passages. I picked out one quote that kind of gives an idea of what it is about.

Significantly, those who look forward to a next and better world are usually “anxiously engaged” in improving this one, for they “always abound in good works” (D&C 58:27; Alma 7:24). Thus, real hope is much more than wishful musing. It stiffens, not slackens, the spiritual spine. It is composed, not giddy, eager without being naive, and pleasantly steady without being smug. Hope is realistic anticipation taking the form of determination—a determination not merely to survive but to “endure … well” to the end.

I would have to say that I never thought of Hope as this way. I like how he uses the words "anxiously engaged." I think that it is important to always be working on being better. If we really hope for things to come then we should be ready for them and living the way that the Lord would have us live. I know this is short but it is hard for me to put into words.

Healing Abuse

I shouldn't have posted this online because now you all know how terribly I am doing with my goal. Oh well, I'm just going to keep trying. Today I read Elder scott's talk on Abuse. I really think he did a great job. This isn't really my area but I did like a quote he said which I think can apply elsewhere.

"Recognize that if you have feelings that you are not loved by your Father in Heaven, you are being manipulated by Satan. Even when it may seem very difficult to pray, kneel and ask Father in Heaven to give you the capacity to trust Him and to feel His love for you. Ask to come to know that His Son can heal you through His merciful Atonement."

I just thought that this is a very powerful statement. How true.. I know that when I start to feel discouraged sometimes it is hard to get back on track, but I know that it isn't possible for us to feel like the Savior doesn't care and be true, feelings like that do come from Satan because Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us unconditionally. They may not be happy with what we are doing but they always have their arms open to welcome us back into the fold.
